The Vascular Mechanobiology Laboratory aims to understand and prevent the progression of cardiovascular diseases through the use of experimental and computational models. Experimentally, through studying cellular responses due to altered mechanical stimuli. Computationally, by creating models to predict arterial behavior and disease progression over time.
Undergraduate Student: UTD students interested in researching the mechanobiological aspects of cardiovascular disease please contact the PI. Skills with computational and/or cell culture experience is a plus.
Graduate Student: We are looking for graduate students to start in the Fall or Spring of 2016/2017. Knowledge in biomechanics, cell biology, mathematical methods, tissues culture, finite element analysis, matlab and java is desired.
Postdoctoral Fellow: A position is available for a post-doc currently working at a nearby institution (e.g. UTD, UTSW, SMU, UNT, UTA, TCU) who would like to be co-mentored. Desired skills include knowledge of biomechanics, image processing, speckle traking, finite elements and programming.
If you are interested in joining the Lab, please email me. Also state your current background, research interests and provide your CV and references.
If you are an K-12 student and interested in public events at UTD or would like volunteer at these events see the events calendar: Click Here
